TERMS & CONDITIONS WITH E&OE

  • Phase 1 of this competition will run from Wednesday 11 November to Friday 13 November 2020, at the discretion of Vicinity Media and/or their promoters. 

  • Phase 2 of this competition will run in the week of 23 November 2020, at the discretion of Vicinity Media and/or their promoters. 

  • Entrants will only be eligible for the competition (phase 1 and phase 2) by signing up for a custom advert.

  • Entrants will only be eligible for phase 1 of the competition by posting their ad screenshot on their personal LinkedIn account during the specified competition timeframe, following the specified entry steps. 

  • Entrants who have participated on LinkedIn can boost their chances of winning in phase 1 and phase 2 by participating on their personal Facebook, Twitter and/or Instagram accounts, with each correct platform participation considered an additional entry.

  • Entrants will only be eligible for phase 2 of the competition by commenting on the phase 2 social media post, with their response to the question posed. 

  • Vicinity Media reserves the right to change the list of participating mobile publisher sites at any time during this campaign for phase 1 of this competition.

  • This competition (phase 1 and phase 2) is open to both existing and new Vicinity Media clients and social media followers of our accounts, but excludes the following people:

    • Directors, members, partners, agents, employees or consultants of Vicinity Media;

    • People who are not legal residents and/or legal citizens of South Africa;

    • Persons under the age of 18;

    • Spouse, life partner, parent, child, brother, sister, business partner, supplier, or any marketing service providers in respect of the competition, or any other person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by the promoter or supplier of goods or services in connection with this competition or associates of any other persons as specified in bullet points above.

  • Only entries by individuals on their personal accounts will be eligible; no entries on company accounts will be considered.

  • The winner (in phase 1 and in phase 2) must be willing to provide their full name, banking details, email address and daytime contact number for the purposes of receiving the prize. Failure to supply correct information on this front within two weeks of our request will result in the prize being forfeited.

  • Payment of prize money will be made into a South African bank account by way of an EFT transaction from Vicinity Media on or before 18 December 2020. Proof of said bank account is required prior to the transaction being made.

  • The winner (in phase 1 and in phase 2) must be willing to share a comment/interview answers and a personal photo for use on Vicinity Media’s platforms for post-campaign publicity purposes (these platforms may include our social media accounts, company mailers and our website). 

  • The winner (phase 1) will be randomly selected from names of entrants meeting the eligibility criteria listed in these T&Cs. The decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

  • The winner (phase 2) will be the person whose answer is nearest to the actual number of impressions served in the #WhereIsMyAd campaign. If there is a tie, the winner will be selected randomly from the names of tied entrants.

  • The winner in phase 1 will be notified by Vicinity Media via LinkedIn direct message in the week of 16 November 2020.

  • The phase 1 cash prize of R25 000.00 (twenty-five thousand rand) is not transferable. No substitution, cash redemption or assignments of the prize is permitted, but the organisers of the competition reserve the right to substitute the prize with one of comparable or greater value for any reason. 

  • The winner in phase 2 will be notified by Vicinity Media via LinkedIn direct message in the week of 30 November 2020.

  • The phase 2 cash prize of R10 000.00 (ten thousand rand) is not transferable. No substitution, cash redemption or assignments of the prize is permitted, but the organisers of the competition reserve the right to substitute the prize with one of comparable or greater value for any reason. 

  • This competition (phase 1 and phase 2) is not sponsored by or affiliated with LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

  • By participating in this competition (phase 1 and phase 2), participants authorise Vicinity Media to collect, store and use (but not share with third parties) any personal information for communication or statistical purposes and future Vicinity Media news.

  • Vicinity Media reserves the right to terminate this campaign and the attached competition component (phase 1 and phase 2) immediately and without notice. In the event of such a decision, all participants agree to waive any rights that they may have in terms of this campaign and competition (phase 1 and phase 2) and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against Vicinity Media, its agents and promotional agencies.

  • Vicinity Media reserves the right to limit the number of entries received for the campaign and has full discretion over who we create the advertised custom ads for. 

  • As part of this campaign and attached competition (phase 1 and phase 2), custom ads will only be created for individuals working within the fields of marketing, advertising or media. Custom ads will not be created for individuals working for competing brands and, as such, these individuals will not qualify for the competition component of this campaign.

  • If required, because of changes in legislation, Vicinity Media shall have the right to terminate this competition (phase 1 and phase 2) immediately and without notice. In the event of such termination, all participants agree to waive any rights that they may have in terms of this competition (phase 1 and phase 2) and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against Vicinity Media, its agents and promotional agencies.

  • The competition participants (phase 1 and phase 2) accept that there is no guarantee that they will win either of the prizes, and the winners accept that Vicinity Media, its agents and promotional agencies cannot be held responsible for any loss, damage or injury that may occur with use of either of the cash prizes.
